I've been practicing consumer justice law for more than 20 years now. I wouldn't trade one moment of it. I've represented the people who have no voice in terms of those who have money and status in our society. Yet that's taken a toll. Unlike the corporations and big pharmaceutical companies, I've listened to the heartache and suffering of ordinary citizens who've suffered as a result of corporate greed and the country club lifestyle. I've heard the stories of mothers who've lost their sons and daughters as a result of bad drugs or ineffective and dangerous medical devices. While they are sipping their Cosmospolitans, I'm fighting for justice. It's time to take back our country for the ordinary citizens who pay their taxes, who work for an honest day's wages. It's time we're heard! It's time for those who don't have the luxury of a portfolio to be heard and represented. It's time to take back our country for the ordinary, hard working citizens who expect an honest day's wages for an honest day's work. That's the foundation of our country. It's time to re-discover this simple principle.

Joe: I too have spent considerable time working for the rights of working people. These last fifteen years, or maybe a bit longer, we've seen jobs leave our country, pay for the hourly worker go down to lower than those same jobs paid in the 1980's. It's been profits over people and for whatever reason voters and juries think they will never be in the Plaintiff's position. I agree it's time to re-discover what made this country great. For the good of this country we need change in Washington. Your post is a timely piece.
